The purpose of this project was to investigate whether and in which way a female politician is discriminated against. One of them is that the media controls a large part of our thoughts, i.e. cognitive selection processes and has the ability to influence us. Agenda theory is one of the most influential theories in media research and explains the media’s power and influence over the agenda. In my study I had interview with a female politicain and the result of the study matched the background. A female politician experiences objectification,violence,and it is difficult for them to reach the top positions,furthermore the media has a huge responsibility of the discrimination that the female politcians need to suffer from. However the most interesting part is that I came with a new result that I did not mention before which is age has effect on the discrimination. Despite the clear evidence that I have however It is difficult to have a completely credible conclusion.The reason of it because I had one person to examine,on the other hand I can make conclusion and perception about how a female politician in Gothenburg experiences discrimination.
